News Report: PUMA attacks are on the rise. 

PUMA’s are very dangerous creatures, inhabiting every state and every major city.  These predators congregate wherever sore losers are found, feasting on the blood of the ill-informed and the apathetic.  PUMA’s are vicious hunters, usually attacking from behind or underneath their prospective prey.  They are known to be afraid of 47-year-old African-American men, changing the status quo in Washington, blue dresses, and the word “hope.”  Their demeanor is characterized by bitterness and frenzy, and they have been known to attack without provocation.  If approached by a PUMA, mention the words “Iraq,” “winning fair and square,” and/or “maybe in 2012″ and they will, according to rumor and latest reports, burst into flames and be reborn again from the ashes of their vindictiveness and callousness.  (more…)

I was looking at the news surrounding the upcoming presidential election, and I realized that one aspect of it makes it strikingly similar to the 1960 election - and no, it’s not the similarity between Obama and JFK.  Just like in 1960, technology is shaping not only how the race is being run, but how it could be won.  (more…)

Barack Obama turned 47 yesterday, and as far as birthday presents go, I’m not too sure the McCain campaign’s now-infamous tire pressure gauge would go over well. 

However, one thing Barack loves: change…as in the pocket change that makes up one of the many $25 donations to his campaign, and in both tire pressure and campaign finance, it appears he’s got the right idea.  (more…)

99 days.

Both campaigns are gearing up for the long haul ahead, the big final stretch before September 4^th, when the media lets us know that we have only two months left.  Then it’s only 30 days until October 4^th, the last home stretch before the last week of campaigning, and then October 28^th, and then finally November 4^th.  Then we sit around until January waiting for “Dubya” to let go of the reins of his train-wreck of a presidency, and then we do our best to look forward. Today is Nelson Mandela’s birthday, and I thought it would be nice to take a look at his legacy, and what it means for race relations in the United States.  It’s tough to look at race relations, regardless of where you are, and think it’s nice to look at - frankly, it’s a problem that is as old as humanity - but when we look back at how one man stood in defiance of racism more than four decades ago, we see there is a great example to follow, and a call to action.  (more…)

In the past minutes alone, I have read articles- from the Times, The New Republic, etc., all fairly liberal publications, that Obama is either not funny enough, or is hard to mock - which, barring some major slip-up, may not be such a bad thing.  (more…)

Stephen Colbert is right.

Number one on my national threat-down list: Bears - as in the current bear market we are experiencing.  As we face rising inflation and the omnipresent issue of gas prices, Americans are doing what we can - eating out less, not taking that vacation - but as recent news shows us, investing in that hybrid may not be such a great idea.  (more…)
