Wall Street stood still as it watched the House of Representatives vote on the proposed $700 billion bailout Monday afternoon. As the voting continued, what seemed like a certainty quickly tumbled into question. Wary investors watched speechlessly as the bill was defeated by a vote of 228-205.
Speechless, it would seem, except for the ability to utter the word “Sell.” The Dow reacted violently to the bailout’s rejection, dropping 777 points - the largest single-day point sell-off in its history.

Barack Obama turned 47 yesterday, and as far as birthday presents go, I’m not too sure the McCain campaign’s now-infamous tire pressure gauge would go over well.

Chariot Races and Angry Faces: Obama, FISA, and Civil Liberties

I just read on cnn.com that Barrack Obama has just voted, along with 68 other senators, to pass the FISA bill (the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act), which dictates exactly how the federal government can eavesdrop on Americans. Now, knowing that Obama specifically said that he would oppose any form of the FISA bill that would grant telephone companies immunity from lawsuits, (even if they illegally spied on US citizens without the required warrant to do so), you would think that Obama would have the courage and the capacity to stick to his principles on this important issue.
Well if you did, you thought wrong.
Allow me to start by apologizing.
Frankly, I think having too many articles about the price of gas (or the price of eggs, or any prices for that matter) constitutes nothing to the issue at hand, and the end result is nothing short of a website that sounds like a whining seven-year-old girl with a skinned knee.
